Went to my first ever Koreatown-Northgate CBD, in my capacity as a reporter for the 한국일보.
If you only read two pieces ever about the official Koreatown along Oakland's Telegraph Ave. (as opposed to the original one in and around 14th), let it be this critical one in the Tribune and then this by the East Bay Express.
I had lunch with Yoo Keun-bae today, for the first time since the early nineties. Still a smart and good man all around. I'll be calling on Gene Hazzard, mentioned in the Tribune piece, to get a better understanding of what's going on. He's been behind a lot of the African-American support behind Jenn Pae.
